The Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) course is an intensive workshop focused on training participants to effectively fulfill the Product Owner role in a Scrum team. It emphasizes maximizing business value and enhancing collaboration with team members and stakeholders. The course includes practical exercises, discussions, and case studies to understand Agile methodologies, prioritize tasks, and plan strategically for high ROI. All sessions are led by a Certified Scrum Trainer.

This intensive, certified 2-day workshop will prepare you for the role of Product Owner. More importantly, you will learn how to manage stakeholders, how to create and maintain the product backlog, and how to create detailed product backlog items or user stories, including acceptance criteria and the definition of done. You will participate in exercises, in-depth discussions, and case studies to illustrate the practices and principles, the agile mindset, and the idea behind Scrum.


Course contents

Our Certified Scrum Product Owner® workshop contains a good balance of theory and practice. We cover the core of Agile and Scrum principles, look at Scrum from the Product Owner’s point of view and introduce practical concepts of Agile Product Management.

Overview of Scrum, Agile Mindset, and Agile Manifesto

This section covers the foundational aspects of Scrum, including its principles and values, and the Agile mindset that underpins it, encouraging flexibility, collaboration, and customer-centric development.

Exploring the Role of the Product Owner

Focuses on the responsibilities and importance of the Product Owner in Scrum, overseeing product vision, backlog management, and stakeholder engagement to maximize value.

Describing Product Purpose, Product Burndown, Planning, and Estimates

Discusses strategies for defining product vision, tracking progress with burndown charts, and effective planning and estimation techniques within the Scrum framework.

Understanding Customers and Users

Highlights the importance of understanding user needs and preferences, and incorporating customer feedback into product development for better outcomes.

Creating and Refining Product Backlog Items (PBIs)

Details the process of creating, assessing, and refining items in the product backlog to ensure clarity, value, and feasibility throughout the product development cycle.

Mr. Sebastian Sussmann has numerous years of IT and software development experience in offshore business both in Europe and Vietnam. He works for Axon Active as Chief Information Officer (CIO). He has worked several years in all Scrum roles in local and distributed teams such as developer, Scrum Master, and Product Owner.

Sebastian has proven experience in building and coaching both on-site and distributed Scrum and Agile teams in Vietnam and Europe. He also coaches Scrum process and Agile thinking for students of several universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Can Tho.
